I thought the quote from Will Rogers was interesting. It is true that the best doctor would be able to 'just know' the condition of the patient. I wonder if Will Rogers knew Christ. He was a cowboy, comedian and actor who lived from 1879-1935. When I read his quote - my first thought was ... Christ - our Great Physician knows everything about us, without having to ask.
Here is the fuller passage of Luke chapter 7:20-23 which helps us to see this better ...
When the men came to Jesus, they said, "John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, 'Are you the one who was to come, or should we expect someone else?' " 21 At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. 22 So he replied to the messengers, "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor. 23 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me."
Now if we could only figure out the free will issue that keeps so many of us and our loved ones in the darkness - thinking we have it all figured out and we know best and not allowing ourselves to accept the free grace of our Healer!

I don't know if Will Rogers knew Christ or not, but I like many of his quotes. He was very down-to-earth.
Love the Will Rogers quote, Valerie..... Yes---the vet needs to know his patients.
Yes---God gives us the 'free will' to make our own choices. We make good decisions and bad decisions. But--the way I look at it is that IF we have Jesus in the center of our hearts, those GOOD decisions will be easier and easier to make.
Hugs,
Betsy
